Migration of radionuclides and gases in the Boom clay
Description
Safety assessment calculations are used for the evaluation of the safety of disposal of high-level radioactive waste in geologic repositories. The models and the numerical values of the model parameters, used in performance assessment calculations, have been validated by bench-scale and in-situ experiments. The scientific programme, objectives, achievements of the research on the migration of radionuclides in the Boom clay, performed in 1995 at the Belgian Nuclear Research Centre SCK-CEN, are summarized
