Multi-scattering method for crystal surface
Description
The paper presents the formalism of a multiple-scattering method for computing the bound energy eigenstates in a thin-film. The film is divided into surface unit cells (SUC), and each SUC is geometrically partitioned into three regions. The electron density and potential which include Slater's Xsub(α) statistical approximation to exchange have been determined for each region. Finally, following Kohn, three basic equations which give the relationship between the energy E and two-dimensional wave vector k have been derived. (author)
