Description
The interplay between the hedgehog pion field and the rho field is discussed in a hidden gauge symmetry model of rho-pion interactions. The importance of the non-perturbative excitation of the rho field, called a hadroid, is investigated. The hadroid combines with the hedgehog pion field to yield the nucleon and its excitations; the solutions are constructed numerically. The problem of matching the hedgehog pion with the hadroid for non-spherical configurations is briefly considered. (orig.)
