Description
The first commercial scale pebble bed reactor (the THTR 300) was commissioned in late 1985 in the Federal Republic of Germany. The plant is now running at full power. The main design characteristics are explained. The performance during the commissioning phase is given. Future developments in high-temperature reactors are described. (U.K.)
