Spent nuclear fuel storage bridge
Description
This patent describes in combination with a water pool having a floor and upstanding walls, a system for storing nuclear waste in the pool. It comprises: a plurality of spent nuclear fuel rod storage canisters; basket means immersed in and substantially spanning the pool for storing the plurality of canisters; frame means carried within the basket means for maintaining the horizontally positioned storage canisters in a plurality of spaced apart vertical stacks; and means supported on the pool walls for suspending the basket means from the pool walls
