Torus type thermonuclear device
Description
Purpose: To generate a balancing magnetic field required for controlling the positional cross sectional shape of plasmas in the shortest time in a tokamak type thermonuclear device. Constitution: The positional and cross-sectional shape of plasmas and the plasma current are measured by detecting the electrical current due to the electromagnetic induction of magnetic fluxes generated from the plasma current by way of an instrument having an electromagnetic probe, and a control computation section calculates vertical magnetic fields, multiple magnetic fields and current transformer fluxes required for controlling the plasma current to a predetermined aimed value. Current value conversion section determines the current to be supplied to each of the coils and the current to be supplied to the current transformer coils so that the power of the equilibrium coils may be minimized, and inputs the same to a poroidal coil power source, thereby generating the vertical magnetic field, the multiple magnetic field and the current transformer magnetic fluxes to the plasmas to control the plasmas to the optimum condition.
