Possible mechanism for the onset of vertical asymmetry of diverted plasma fluxes in a torsatron

Description

Another mechanism is proposed to explain the onset of vertical asymmetry of diverted plasma fluxes in toroidal plasma confinement systems with a helical divertor configuration. The mechanism is governed by the possible regular displacement of plasma particles in a certain direction, e.g., due to the rigid rotation of the plasma column
