Experimental study of the acoustic emission of aluminium alloys

Preliminary experiments were performed to study the possibility of applying acoustic emission to the characterization of physical properties of aluminium alloys. The effects of some parameters such as impurity concentration, thermal treatments, precipitation state are revealed. These experiments showed that acoustic emission is a very sensitive means for studying or discovering microscopic deformation phenomena

On rapporte les resultats d'experiences preliminaires sur les possibilites d'application de l'emission acoustique a la caracterisation des proprietes physiques de certains alliages d'aluminium. On a mis en evidence l'influence de certains parametres sur l'emission acoustique: teneur en impurete, traitement thermique, etat de precipitation. Ces experiences ont montre que l'emission acoustique peut etre un moyen tres sensible d'etudes et de decouvertes de processus microscopiques de deformationsAdditional details
