Description

One of the ingredients to a successful calculation of the spectrum in lattice simulation of quantum chromodynamics is a trial wave function for mesons and baryons which bears some qualitative resemblance to the true wave function and which can be used as a source for the construction of hadron propagators. We review recent progress in constructing trial wave functions, including some systematic studies carried out by us using Connection Machines at NCAR and Florida State University. (orig.)
