Inclusive spectra in the K-+p→K-anti (K0)+X reactions at 16 and 35 GeV/c according to the interpolation multi-Regge model

Description

A method is described for calculation of inclusive processes of the a+b → C+X and a+b → X1+C+X2 types by means of diagrams with one or two showers which correspond to diffractive processes and central interactions. In this case the amplitude has the interpolation multireggeon form. Signature factors remain in the amplitude, whereas X = Pl/Psub(max) changes from -o.4 to +1. ''Real'' (not effective) Regge trajectories of the a(t) = a0 + a1t type are used, i.e., the values a0 and a1 are not fitted. However, the incomplete set of the trajectories under studies (for instance, only P, S and π are not employed of meson trajectories) supplies interaction effective constants among which it is impossible to establish isotopic and SU(3) symmetric relation. The method is applied for calculating the invariant spectrum of anti K, anti K0-mesons in the reaction K-p → K-anti (K0) + X, Psub(a) + Psub(b) → Psub(c) + P at 16 GeV/c and a prediction is made for 35 GeV/c. Though the model can be improved, the present version provides satisfactory results. The generation efficiency id rather high and no artificial simplifications are made in the matrix element, and no noticeable restrictions are imposed upon the range of the values of X under consideration. The invariant anti K- and anti K0-spectra F(X) derived in the model do not reach the scaling at S<approximately70 GeV2. Within the limits of calculational errors the agreement with experimental data is sufficiently good
