Synchrotron radiation and its application
Description
The paper is devoted to a survey description of achievements in theoretical and experimental studies of properties of synchrotron radiation (SR), and its application in practice, and of further development to prospects o the researches. Formulas are given for intensities of harmonics, for self-polarization effect and for SR spectrum in superstrong magnetic fields. A detailed analysis is given of utilization of storages as sources of SR and of most important discoveries in the physics of elementary particles made recently with the help of storages. The necessity of developing universal utilization of SR has been indicated. From the authors viewpoint the application of ondulators and sources of ondulator radiation will produce great possibilities for experimentators
