Tracer measurement of residence time distributions of the liquid flow inside a photo-reactor

Description
The photo-reactor (PR)) for sewage disinfection is simply a tubular reactor inside with UV emitting lamps are placed. The key to its good performance is a combination of optimum irradiation dose and fluid residence times. Tests using 99mTc or 113In and were run simultaneously with dye which allowed the visualization flow behaviour and aided in the construction of a conceptual model. Dynamical modeling of the PR may then be attempted using the full tracer information record. (author)
