Implantation Of Ions of Cyclotron Energy Range: The Current State of the ART

Description
A concise overview of new possibilities of swift heavy ions (approx 1 MeV/u) application with the purpose of modification of properties of different materials is presented. As an illustration several typical examples, except for the commonly known ones, are briefly discussed:(1) modification of temperature dependence of manganin resistance improving its characteristics as a pressure sensor [4,5], (2) increasing of diffusion through latent tracks [6], (3) investigation of defect evolution in nanocrystalline Pb and ZrO2 with different initial grain sizes from 10 to 300 nm [7]
