Variational QCD at finite chemical potential

Description
Assuming a gaussian-distributed non-perturbative gluon field in the QCD vacuum we investigate the pressure of the quark-gluon matter at finite temperature and chemical potential. We calculate a dynamically generated gluon mass, a bag pressure and we obtain a first order phase transition into a massless ideal quark-gluon gas. (orig.)
