Computerization of the review of piping stress analysis results and the preparation of stress report
Description
The piping stress analysis work for nuclear power plants is a manpower intensive effort especially in regard to the review of analysis results and the preparation of a formal stress report based on project unique procedures. To build the analytical model of a piping system, engineers have to prepare the required data and piping isometrics. After execution of the piping stress analysis program, the results should be reviewed rigorously and the stress report prepared with valid review results. The piping stress analysis report contains the summary of review results, input data and assumptions, supporting calculations, isometrics, etc. The computerization of this work procedure which allows for automated storage of data, review of stress analysis results, extraction of required values from the output file, performance of required supporting calculations, and generation of a stress report file will greatly improve the consistency, quality and productivity of stress analysis work. This paper describes the concept and structure of the computer program PSAD (Piping Stress Analysis Documentation) which was developed for this purpose. (author)
