Pilot installation with an electron accelerator for modifying fabrics by liquid-phase graft copolimerization
Description
A pilot plant with an electron accelerator for modification of fabric by means of liquid phase graft copolymerization in continuous regime is described. It is demonstrated that for continuous motion of fabric with a velocity of 0.6-1.0 m/min and the absorbed radiation dose of 1.0 Mrad it is possible to irradiate 4, 8 and 12 layers of fabric. The results of the study of dose distribution and the dependence of the degree of graft of acryl and metacryl acids and their sodium salts on the dose rate are presented. It is established that for a sufficiently high monomer concentration inside the fiber the graft process can occur at a high velocity for large dose rates
