Description

According to the guidelines for the operation of accelerators in the medical field, the responsibility for safe operation falls on the physicist in charge. It is his task to test the functional safety of the system at certain time intervals. Besides explanations on basically necessary control measures and the time intervals in which they must be carried out, examples for an efficient performance are given. Finally, the necessary minimum of measuring equipment as well as the necessary laboratory and working space are briefly mentioned. (ORU/LH)

Abstract (German)

Nach den Richtlinien fuer den Betrieb von Beschleunigern im medizinischen Bereich wird die Verantwortung fuer den sicheren Betrieb dem zustaendigen Physiker uebertragen. Ihm obliegt es, die Funktionssicherheit der Anlage in bestimmten zeitlichen Abstaenden zu testen. Neben Ausfuehrungen ueber grundsaetzlich notwendige Kontrollmassnahmen und die Zeitintervalle, in denen sie durchgefuehrt werden muessen, werden Beispiele fuer eine rationelle Durchfuehrung gegeben. Abschliessend wird auf die notwendige Mindestausruestung an Messmitteln sowie den notwendigen Labor- und Werkstattplatz verwiesen. (ORU)
