A second UHV beam line at SSRL for studies in the spectral range 4-4000 eV

  • 1. Stanford Univ., Calif. (USA)

Description

In order to expand the capabilities in the spectral range 4 eV <= hγ <= 4000 eV at SSRL and to close the photon energy gap between approximately 1 keV and 4 keV, a new beam line is planned. Beam line III is designed to provide monochromatized radiation with five branch lines. The branch lines will be equipped with monochromators, sample chambers, data acquisition systems and are oriented toward the outside user. Construction of beam line III will initiate the SSRL expansion program at SPEAR. First operation is anticipated by fall 1978. (Auth.)
