Project ''REMAD'', Neutron spectrometry. Code ''SOHO - phase II''. First part ''FORMULATION''

Description

''SOHO'' is a new neutron spectrometric code with large potential applications besides the BONNER spheres system for which he has been initially developped. This code makes use of a new and original iteractive procedure for the search of approximate solutions from the Fredholm integral Equation of the First kind whose Resolution Function is experimentally and/or mathematically defined (e.g. the Log-Normal Hypothesis for the BONNER Spheres). Upon discretization of the Fredholm integral Equation we get systems of non-exact homogeneous linear equations: Q X = e whose approximate solutions are given when: Q X → 0. We show that the iterative procedure converges absolutely leading to the existence of the approximate solutions, independently of the kind of initialization used. For the applications to health physics of the BONNER sphere ''SOHO'' has been programmed on a HP - 41 CV calculator

Abstract (French)

''SOHO''est un nouveau code de spectrometrie neutronique possedant de larges applications potentielles en dehors du systeme des spheres de BONNER pour lequel il a ete developpe. Ce code met en oeuvre une procedure iterative nouvelle et originale pour la recherche des solutions approchees de l'integrale de Fredholm de 1ere espece dont la fonction de resolution est experimentalement et/ou mathematiquement definie (Hypothese Log-Normale pour les spheres de BONNER). Par discretisation de l'integrale de Fredholm, nous obtenons des systemes d'Equations Lineaires Homogenes non exactes: Q X = e dont les solutions approchees sont donnees lorsque: Q X → 0. Nous montrons que la convergence de la procedure iterative est abosolue et donc l'existence des solutions approchees, quel que soit le mode d'initialisation utilise. Pour les applications a la radioprotection des spheres de Bonner, ''SOHO'' a ete programme sur HP - 41 CV
