Investigation into monocrystal growth of the Basub(x)Srsub(1-x)Nbsub(2)Osub(6):Ce solid solution by the Czochralski and Stepanov methods

Description

Monocrystals of cerium-doped barrium-strontium niobate solid solution, (BSN-Ce), are grown using the Czochralski and Stepanov methods. Growth bands are the main defects in the BSN:Ce monocrystals grown by the Czochralski method. Growth bands are also observed in the monocrystal wafers grown by the Stepanov method, their formation being related to a stepwise relief of the lateral surface. Peculiarities of the BSN:Ce monocrystal growth by the two methods are compared. Based on the investigations carried out a conclusion is drawn that the BSN:Ce monocrystal growth by the Stepanov method is more promising
