Description

Muscular hamartoma is a well-demarcated tumour composed of smooth muscle and adipose tissue. We report the MRI findings of a patient with benign breast tumour. The use of contrast MRI did not provide significant characteristics for the differentiation of benign and malignant masses. Although the MRI features were an interesting finding and had not been described previously, the use of MRI for the evaluation of this tumor is unlikely to be relevant. Ultrasound-guided or stereotactic-guided core biopsy could be more useful in the establishment of the diagnosis. Copyright (2002) Blackwell Science Pty Ltd
