Contribution of radiolysis products of extractant solution components into the change in its hydrodynamic properties

The contribution of products of radiation-chemical transformations of organic diluent and TBP to the change of aggregative stability of extraction emulsion has been studied. Emulsion of water/oil type was simulated, which appears at the stage of soda regeneration of extractant solution in the course of spent nuclear fuel reprocessing. Two-phase water-organic systems (dodecane and 30 % solution of TBP in dodecane and HNO3 solution or distilled water) were subjected to irradiation by 60Co. The rate of electrolyte drop convergence in TBP organic solution depending on irradiation dose is considered. It is shown that the presence of TBP in irradiated solution does not affect aggregation rate. Carbonyl-containing products of diluent radiolysis are the substances, affecting hydrodynamic characteristics of electrolyte solution
