Sideways in time

The possible existence of alternative versions of the Universe and in particular the concept of parallel universes and alternate worlds of probability are discussed. The process of choice which is going on all the time at every level could produce such a series of parallel universes. To understand many of the puzzles in the physical Universe to-day, for instance those connected with the elusive, hypothetical faster-than-light particles the tachyons, it might be necessary to consider both quantum mechanics and Eastern philosophy.
