Description
The measurement principle and the press ring measurement method of SiC layer's strength and Weibull parameter for 10 MW High Temperature Gas-cooled Reactor coated fuel particles are presented. These strength and Weibull parameter are measured by special devices. The measurement results indicate higher strength and Weibull parameter, more homogeneous form much less porosity and better quality of SiC layer coated under 1500 degree C than under other temperature. It is apparent that coating temperature has remarkable effect on the SiC layer's strength and strength dispersion. The strict control of coating temperature is one of important ways to improve SiC layer's quality and decrease its rupture in production of High Temperature Gas-cooled Reactor coated fuel particles
