Description
Computerized tomography in traumatology is the selected method for the indications mentioned, so that angiographic investigations are only necessary in exceptional cases. Computerized tomography is also better than other methods when diagnozing soft part tumours, however, angiography is still indicated preoperatively for individual cases. CT is only good as additional help to conventional diagnostics with bone tumours. The differential diagnosis cysts-tumour is possible using contrast medium injections. The frequently large soft part share of tumours is recognizable with osteolytic tumours so that a better irradiation and operation planning can be effected. Diseases in the spinal canal can only be assessed with reservation using modern equipment. Lumbar dislocations of the disk can mostly not be sufficiently determined. Perivertebral abscesses can be certainly detected using computerized tomography. This is particularly so for abscesses prior to calcification. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
In der Traumatologie stellt die Computertomographie bei den genannten Indikationen die Methode der Wahl dar, so dass angiographische Untersuchungen nur noch in Ausnahmefaellen notwendig werden. Auch bei Weichteiltumoren ist die Computertomographie allen anderen Methoden ueberlegen, in Einzelfaellen wird jedoch eine Angiographie praeoperativ indiziert sein. Bei Knochentumoren ist die CT nur als Ergaenzung zur konventionellen Diagnostik von Wert. Die Differentialdiagnose Zyste-Tumor ist mit Hilfe von Kontrastmittelinjektionen moeglich. Bei osteolytischen Tumoren ist der oft grosse Weichteilanteil der Tumoren erkennbar, so dass eine bessere Bestrahlungs- und Operationsplanung erfolgen kann. Erkrankungen im Wirbelkanal lassen sich mit den heute gaengigen Geraetetypen nur unter Vorbehalt beurteilen. Lumbale Bandscheibenvorfaelle koennen mit den meisten Geraeten noch nicht ausreichend erfasst werden. Paravertbrale Abszesse sind dagegen in jedem Fall mit der Computertomographie erfassbar. Fuer Abszesse gilt dies insbesondere schon vor Eintreten von Verkalkungen. (orig.)Additional details
