Description
Results concerning a best-fit calculation of the scission point configuration in the most probable mode of 252Cf spontaneous fission are presented. Calculations are performed through a modified procedure with respect to the method used in the past. The present analysis shows that large distributions of fragment kinetic energy and interfragment distances, as previously obtained, are necessarily required to reproduce the features of the experimental angular distribution of the long-range alpha particles.
