Description
Increased fluxes of neutral species in beams from an effusive source of alkali halide vapor observed when a beam of electrons is coaxial with the neutral beam are shown to be well accounted for by a model involving electron stimulated desorption of alkali atoms. The new model replaces an older one which attributed the increased flux to the electron beam acting as a weak trap for the neutrals thus serving to provide some controls of their motion
