Υ → Υ π π decay: a challenge for heavy quark dynamics not π π physics

  • 1. Rutherford Appleton Lab., Chilton (UK)
  • 2. Brookhaven National Lab., Upton, NY (USA)

Description

The distinctive π π spectrum observed in Υ → Υ π π decay has been ascribed by various authors to the presence of a low mass σ-resonance. Such an explanation is shown to have unacceptable consequences. (author)
