Radioactive waste management at healthy research centers

Description
The use of radioisotopes in research center, mainly in the health field, is still growing, giving rise to increasing amounts of radioactive waste that must be managed safely and economically sound. These wastes can be classified as solid, organic and inorganic solutions, and biological wastes. The main contaminants are H-3, C-14, P-32, S-35, Ca-45 and I-125. A system for the management of this kind of wastes is presented in this paper. (author)
