Magnetohydrodynamic flow past a circular cylinder
Description
This paper deals with the slow-flow problem of an incompressible, viscous, electrically conducting fluid past a circular cylinder in an alignment magnetic field. The solutions for the velocity and magnetic fields as sought by the method of matched asymptotic expansions under the assumptions R,Rsub(m)<<M<<1, such that R=O(Rsub(m)). The influence of R and Rsub(m)on this solution is studied to O(R/log M)2) and O(R/log M), respectively. (Auth.)
