Description
Possible divergences arising from vanishing dividing or handle geodesics are analysed for heterotic superstrings. No infinities are found nor especially do any arise from the left-moving bosonic partition function. We conclude that heterotic superstrings are excellent candidates to give a finite theory of quantum gravity. (orig.)
