Ulcerative angiosarcoma of the vault of the cranium masked by pyodermia

Description
This is a report on a patient suffering from a progressive ulcerative tumour of the vault of the cranium with accompanying osteolytic destruction. The disease pattern was interpreted first after a biopsy from the emarginal wall of the inflammation as a case of pyodermia. CT, radiography, inner imaging is also performed. It was only on postmortem examination that an angiosarcoma of the ulcerative type was correctly diagnosed. The ulcerative type of angiosarcoma is sometimes difficult to differentiate from inflammatory skin diseases. (orig./GDG)
Abstract (German)
Es wird ueber einen Patienten mit progressivem, ulzerativem Tumor der Schaedelkalotte und begleitender osteolytischer Destruktion berichtet. Das Krankheitsbild wurde zunaechst, nach einer Biopsie aus dem Randwall der Entzuendung, als Pyodermie interpretiert. Erst post mortem konnte korrekt ein Angiosarkom vom ulzerativen Typ diagnostiziert werden. Die ulzerative Form des Angiosarkoms ist differentialdiagnostisch mitunter schwer von entzuendlichen Hauterkrankungen zu unterscheiden. (orig.)Additional details
