France: A bad year for oil refining

Creators

Description

1999 has been a bad year for the sectors of oil-refining and fuel delivery in France. The economic result (after having paid taxes) is 0.8 GF, showing a sharp decrease of 5.3 GF in comparison with 1998. This article presents the current concerns of these sectors: the high demand of diesel-fuels, the decrease of the number of service stations, the eco-tax project and the new European norms of fuels.
