Removal of H2 from gaseous streams by Cu O packed column reaction

Description

Studies for hydrogen removal from gaseous streams generated during alkaline dissolution of U Alx targets are presented. The procedure is based on the H2 oxidation to H2 O via Cu O. This reaction takes place in a packed column with Cu O coated material which is maintained at 400 ± 500 C using a cylindrical furnace. High efficiency for H2 conversion was achieved showing a good performance for remote operation. (author)
