Nuclear war at Garching. The planned reactor at Garching becoming a matter of escalating debate
Creators
Description
The conceptual design of the new FRM-2 reactor at Garching, under examination for licensing, comprises the use of highly enriched uranium (approx. 93% of U-235, HEU) in order to achieve a high neutron flux but avoid doubling of the output to 40 MW. The author of the article presents his arguments speaking against the use of HEU and shows alternative design solutions for getting a strong high-flux neutron source. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
(orig.)Additional details
