Galactic X-ray sources
Description
The current status of galactic X-ray sources is reviewed from both theoretical and observational points of view. A tentative classification scheme based on the nature of the optical counterparts of binary X-ray sources is suggested, and is discussed in terms of recent Ariel 5 s.s.i. observations of three galactic X-ray sources: 3U1538-52, H1705-25 and SS Cygni.
