Effect of the beam-plasma system intrinsic oscillations on the plasma barrier trans illumination

Description

The effect of the beam-plasma system intrinsic oscillations on the plasma wave barrier trans illumination for electromagnetic waves with the aid of an electron beam is studied experimentally. The information on the amplitude-frequency and spatial distribution of the intrinsic oscillations intensity are obtained. The data concerning the velocity distribution of the beam electrons having passed through plasma barrier, the spatial distribution of the intensity of the space charge wave artificially excited in the electron beam and their temporal characteristics were obtained as well. It is shown that the considerable change of the electron beam velocity distribution and the nonstationary of the beam-plasma system take place due to the nonlinear processes. All this leads to the damping and nonstationary of the space charge wave used for the barrier trans illumination
