Experimental study of the drift-flux parameter

  • 1. Seoul National University, Seoul (Korea, Republic of)

Description

To get more accurate prediction of void fraction using drift-flux model, slip and void distribution effects must be considered properly. In this model, these two effects are accounted for by two drift-flux parameters; Co and Vgj. In this study Co is experimentally determined by measuring local void fraction and vapor velocity distributions in a rectangular subchannel and the measurements are performed with two-electrical conductivity probes. The experiments are performed at low flow rate and the system pressure less than 3 bars of pressure. Finally, Co is expressed as a function of channel averaged void fraction
