The importance of focusing on defects in nanocrystalline systems

  • 1. Applied Nuclear Physics Division, Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics, Kolkata 700064 (India)

Description

Normally when any interpretation is made about an experimental observation related to a nanomaterial system, one accepts that the concerned material is of the required stoichiometry and chemical composition. Techniques like X-ray diffraction are also helpful in assuaging apprehensions about having mixed phases or lattice expansion/contraction effects etc. (author)
