Development of new radiation remote-sensing method based on cavity ring-down laser spectroscopic measurement of radiation induced radicals
- 1. Nagoya Univ., Dept. of Nuclear Engineering, Nagoya, Aichi (Japan)
Description
For monitoring of high dose rate radiation fields, we have developed a prototype remote-sensing system applying an ultra high sensitive laser absorption spectroscopy or ''cavity ring-down (CRD) spectroscopy'' to measure trace quantities of radicals induced by radiation and made some proof-of-principle experiments through the on-line measurement of 60Co gamma-ray induced radicals in the air. The model calculation has suggested selecting NO2 as the target molecule under the use of the wavelength of 532 nm for measurement. (T. Tanaka)
