Description

Using the exact relation for isothermal compressibility of a two-component plasma, the perturbation theory with respect to the pseudopotential of the electron-ion interaction and a one-component plasma (OCP) as a reference system, a simple analytical expression for the isothermal compressibility of liquid metals is obtained. The results obtained on the base on the Monte Carlo method for OCP are taken into account. The calculations carried out for the compressibility of liquid alkali metals on the base of the obtained formula ensure agreement with available experimental data accurate to several percents within the whole range of the thermodynamic parameters.
