High-temperature general-service vacuum channel for intrareactor investigations

  • 1. AN Latvijskoj SSR, Riga. Inst. Fiziki

Description

To study reactor instruments under the influence of high temperatures and intensive irradiation a high-temperature general-service vacuum channel, having an experimental replaceable ampoule in the centre of the active core, has been constructed and operates now at the IRT reactor of the Physics Institute (Latvian SSR Academy of Sciences). Calculations of the reactor core, containing an experimental ampoule, were made by the Monte Carlo method. The main parameters and operating characteristics of the channel have been experimentally determined: maximum temperature of the object under investigation is 1300 K, vacuum-105 Pa, temperature regulation range-7O0 K
