Automated cyclotron magnetic field measurement at the University of Manitoba
Creators
- 1. Cyclotron Lab., Dept. of Physics, Univ. of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3T 2N2
Description
The magnetic field of the University of Manitoba compact cyclotron has been measured in high vacuum by polar scanning with 52 flip coils. This unique invacuo operation was required because the Curie effect on invar material is used to trim the field. The data acquisition controller was a Digital Equipment Corporation LSI-11 with CAMAC and IEEE-488 interfaces. Filtering, display and conventional equilibrium orbit analysis were performed off-line by means of a VAX-11/750 computer. A description of the apparatus and software is given
