A digital system for the automated inspection of nozzle-to-vessel weld and flat plate specimens
Description
A computer controlled, ultrasonic data collection system for detecting and characterising defects within thick section weldments is described. The different ways recorded data can be processed and displayed in order to aid interpretation is explained. Finally the performance of the equipment when applied to flat plates and nozzle-to-vessel weld test pieces with deliberately introduced defects is outlined
