  • 1. Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona (Spain). Facultad de Medicina

Description

This study was carried out to evaluate the BACTEC system and conventional methods for detecting mycobacteria in specimens with a negative acid-fast smear and a positive culture. In addition, the study evaluates p-nitro-a-acetyl-amino-b-hydroxypropiophenone (NAP), 8-azaguanine (8-AZG) and para-nitrobenzoic acid (PNB) inhibition for the rapid differentiation of TB from MOTT bacilli.
