Decomissioning of the Neuherberg research reactor (FRN)

After a short review of the technical data of FRN (Neuherberg research reactor) the following subjects in connection with the decommissioning procedure are discussed: time schedule, approval procedure for decommissioning, opinion of the german technical supervision board, removal of the fuel elements, dismantling and decontamination of the cooling loops, tightening of the beam ports and radiation protection doors, radiation shieldings inside the reactor block, cover plate of the reactor pool, clearance measurements in the reactor hall, cost of decommissioning and alternative cost estimations, further use of the reactor hall.
