Radiotracer study of the purification of lanthanum fluoride

Description
The authors used radioactive isotopes of iron, cobalt, yttrium, and cerium to determine the purification limits for preparation of high purity lanthanum fluoride via coprecipitation and precipitation reactions. Samples were spiked, purified, then the radioactivity measured in solid and liquid phases. Lanthanum fluoride prepared in this manner is used in the preparation of high quality fluoride glasses
