Contact Expert Group – Project Summary 94: CA2 Nuclear submarine dismantling in Far-East Russia
Description
The Canadian funded projects for safe long distance transportation of two decommissioned Russian nuclear submarines from Kamchatka to the Zvezda shipyard. Subsequently, both submarines were defueled and dismantled with the formation of three compartment units. The Republic of Korea has made financial contribution to this effort. The project were completed in 2009.
