Mass redistribution and mechanical properties of γ-irradiated low density polyethylene films
Description
Development of a measuring system for density has been made to measure the variation of density of gamma ray irradiated low density polyethylene films. X-ray diffraction technique was used to explain the share of crystalline phase in the mass redistribution, infrared spectra were studied to evaluate the crosslinking and degradation in the polymer during irradiation. Mechanical testing was used to study the effect of irradiation process on some of the mechanical properties of polymers. (author). 15 refs., 5 figs., 1 tab
