Evaluating electrical cables by the LLNL Ease-Of-Ignition apparatus

Description
Using the LLNL Ease-of-Ignition apparatus, three physical characteristics of cables commonly used at LLNL were examined: (1) mass per unit length of cable, (2) the outside diameter, and (3) the percentage of conductor material. Trends in tests determining times-to-ignition that larger conductor diameters and ratios of conductor-to-outside diameter have ignition times dependent on the chemical composition of the jacket material were observed
